Sandy Washington is an everyday kind of kid - who just happens to have been brought up by aliens.

Now the Hakh'li have taught him everything they can about Earth (from fifty-year old movies and TV programme), they have decided to take him home. All this seems pretty neat to Sandy, but on arrival, he starts to find out that a lot of what he thinks he knows about the Earth is wrong. And the extraordinary gifts that the Hakh'li intend to give to humanity being to look pretty suspect...
